Simple photography depth of field tip
Monday, June 4th, 2007

I was reading a photography book and came across this tip, so I thought to share it with you guys…

- If you are taking a picture of an object from close rang and trying to blur the background (to show the depth of field) you should almost always use tripod. However, even with a tripod the camera shakes a little bit when you press the shutter button (to take the picture).

The way you can fix that is to use the timer shutter. Then there is no shaking when the picture is being taken…

Photography has not remained only for professionals there is much guidance available at online resources as well. Also the technology has advanced and gadgets like canon digital cameras have made it look easy. These digital cameras can also work as video cameras. On the other hand greater functionality comes with cost of more powerful camera batteries.

Night Club Photography

Here are some pointers for shooting photos at a night club or indoor parties:
  1. Timing is very important. Find the good shots and take them.
  2. Using Flash is a controversial topic. Flash can help you produce better pictures but it will kill the natural posing of the subjects and disturb everyone with the bright lights. So its up to you.
  3. Try using large aperture (especially without the flash)
  4. Prime lenses work best. I use a 50mm F1.8 myself.
  5. If you are using digital camera take as many pictures as you can. You can always dump them on your computer and erase the memory card.
