Here is a list of some SEO blogs that I have recently subscribed to. I find them very useful and I think most of you - webmasters - will to:

Now that directories have slightly lost their weight in search engine optimization business, we need to further explore our other options (besides its never good to rely on only one method). Following I will list some other methods that you can use to increase your website’s visibility on Google and increase the pagerank of your website (I don’t think pagerank is as important but advertisers still use it!).
1- Blog Posts: This is (in my opinion) the best way to search optimize your websites. Obviously it is best to have great content so that bloggers start reviewing your website on their own, but that’s not always easy. So try to buy blog reviews from other webmasters. However don’t use the same article for every blog post that you buy. Either have the blogger write a unique review of your website or write one yourself (you don’t want duplicate articles so that Google might ignore all but few of the blog posts)
2- Forum Signature: Forum member’s signature links are not as valuable as blog posts, but it has couple great advantages. It is fairly cheap. It helps other members know your website (creates a brand). It creates backlinks (obviously).
3- Blog Comments: Leaving comments in blog posts is another way to leave your link behind.
4- Buy links on other websites: This is (obviously) a great way to promote your website, but beware that Google is now penalizing websites who sell or buy ad links. So be discrete about it and make sure the website you are advertising on doesn’t have texts such as “Advertisement”, “Sponsors”, and such (because that is one of the ways Google finds out about websites who sell or buy ad links).
Following SEO methods are what I have used on my websites. They are not in any particular order. You will see dramatic improvement in your websites traffic, however, it will take time and effort.
1- Get more backlinks (it’s never enough):
- Submit to directories
- Exchange links with websites who have similar content to yours
- Make posts in forums and have your links in your signature
- Post comments in blogs
- Publish good content. It will make generic links for you
- Write articles (with your links in them) and distribute it online
2- Write your pages with the reader in mind. While you go on with the SEO project, keep in mind that your pages need to be optimized for visitors for them to come back.
3- Track your progress. Following are the methods I use:
- Google Webmaster Central
- Google Analytics
- Digital Point Keyword Tracker
- Awstats: Provided by your webhosting company
4- Once you move/rename a page, use 301 redirects to let SEs (& users) know.
5- Generate one or more sitemaps for your website and submit it to search engines
6- Redirect your http://domainname to www.domainname (or the other way around)
7- Use as much CSS as possible for your website. You don’t have to design your website with CSS instead of tables. CSS helps you manage your styles much better and makes it easier to make changes across the website.
8- Use search engine friendly URLs. Search engines don’t like dynamic URLs, so use static ones. If you are using wordpress, phpbb, gallery menalto (or almost any other softwares), there are always mods to generate static URLs instead of default dynamic ones.
9- Participate in forums and ask questions. Following are the forums I’m an active member of:
I will post more SEO strategies as I learn them and apply them to my websites.
Following are simple modifications to Gallery Menalto that will increase its search engine optimization:
1- Activate the URL Rewrite module.(Can be done in the admin section)
2- Deactivate the Slideshow module. This might upset some visitors but in my experience no many visitors actually use that function.(Can be done in the admin section)
3- Add linkable Titles under the thumbnail of each album. (This can be done by editing the album.tpl file):
Find:
{g->text text=”%s” arg1=$child.title|markup}
Then find the link that points to the albums (in the thumbnail section located right above the “Title” code) and wrap the above text with that link.
4- Activate the Google Sitemap module and submit it to Google.
1- In the Admin mode, go under “Options” –> “Permalinks“. Under common options choose “Cusom, specify below” and in the custom structure filed put: /%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%/
2- Go to SEO Title Tag, download the plugin. Upload the plugin to your blog and activate it. Then go to your “header.php” file and change your title tag as indicated in the instruction of the plugin.
3- Go to XML Sitemap Generator for Wordpress and download the latest stable version. Upload the plugin, activate it, follow the instruction and produce a sitemap for your blog. Then go to Google Webmaster Tools and submit your sitemap.
4- Hand submit your blog to as many directories as possible. You can find a list of directories with their reviews here.
5- Download and install the SH-AutoLink plugin for your wordpress. SH-AutoLink transforms predefined words into hyperlinks in posts and comments.
Talking about internet we can safely say that size does matter. It has become harder to find right site with right information. These days internet marketers are high on demand who can bridge the gap between customers and the company. Business firms pay much attention on their website promotion. Companies practice affiliate programs like pay per click for their business. And on other side industry professionals are seeking seo advertising. But one thing of fundamental importance is having a reliable website hosting partner.
