For the last 14 months (since April 2011) I’ve been working on a web project that has lead to Heritage Law Marketing LLC. Its a network of sites promoting attorneys based on their cultural background and language skills.
History
I had owned www.IranianLawyers.net (now IranianLawyers.com) for few years and had been listing Iranian attorneys for free. I received great feedback from those listings, inquiries to buy advertising, and offers to buy the site. It made perfect sense. People generally have a higher level of trust with those whom they connect with through their background, language, or religion. What’s more was the fact that it was a market segment largely ignored by the large legal marketing firms. Hence Heritage Law Marketing LLC was born in April 2011. It now has 20+ sites such as Arab Lawyers, Latino Lawyers, and Indian Lawyers.
There is a monthly membership fee where attorneys receive high exposure to their potential clients through the websites and social media pages (Indian lawyers FB page: 5700+ followers), a platform for their clients to post reviews, and a chance to highlight one of their lesser advertised but very powerful skills.
Release 2.0
Back in September I released version 1.0 of the project. At that time the main features of the script were completed and rolled out to all the sites. Today, after 14 months and $$$$$, version 2.0 has been finally completed as well. I’ll go through the new features below. The sites have become truly user friendly, full of relevant information, easy to navigate, and fast to load even on dial-up.
Rob (AnOn DigitalPoints forum) has done a great deal of programming for the site. I know him personally and professionally and couldn’t be happier for having him on board for this project.
Technical Features
Here are the new features since last update:
1- Homepage Google Map
Homepage Google map with JavaScript, jQuery, and Google API. Try it out by clicking on the colored circles on the map or the law practices on the right side.
2- Listing Filtering
Listing filtering without reloading the page (jQuery). Click on the law practices and watch the listings adjust.
3- Demographics information
On the site there are demographics information on for example population of Iranians and number of Iranian Lawyers in most U.S. states in 2000 and/or 2010. All the information are from U.S. Census census Bureau. (look on the top left side of each page)
What The Future Holds
There are still quite a number of features I’d like to add to the sites and they’re all in the works. However now the main next step will be marketing and advertising. Its time for to read a bunch of marketing, sales, and partnership books and bring new partners in the Heritage Law Marketing team to kick things off.
Version 3.0 should also be completed by end of 2012.
