During the past few months I’ve been upgrading a lot of my websites and have been going through a lot of WordPress theme websites. Following are my top 5 favorite ones:
This blog’s Theme
This blogĀ (Nima Heydarian) hasĀ my favorite theme for a personal WordPress site. It’s really simple, easy to read, and doesn’t scare people off. I had this coded for me over a year ago. I’m thinking about cleaning the code and making available as a downloadable theme.

Magazine Theme ($79.99)
This magazine theme is offered by StudioPress. I use it on one of my own websites (Automation News) and am very happy with it. It’s a really good package out of box but can be easily customized too. It look very professional, its very clean, and still has space for ad placement.

Gazette Theme ($70.00)
Gazette theme is from Woo Themes. They also have a good number of WordPress themes for sale. I run Biomedical News on the Gazette theme. I wanted a theme that looks like a news website allowing me to show the last 10 articles or so on the homepage with a “featured” story feature. This theme has all of those. It is also very customizable from the admin area. It has a lot of SEO plugs built into it as well but I usually install all of those on my own.
