WordPress is with no doubt the most powerful blogging software out there. It has many useful features and gets better after every update. There are some features that perhaps majority of blogging community don’t need or use, so they are not embedded into Wordpress.

Us, webmasters, expect more from Wordpress so we have filled the gap with the plugins provided by the users. Some of these add-ons are essential for running a successful blog. I constantly add and upgrade the plugins on my blog. I will use this post to keep you updated on which ones I use here and will update it every time I add or subtract a plugin. Here are the Wordpress plugins I use on this blog:

  • CForms: Creates contact forms for your blog.
  • Digg This: Add digs link to your posts
  • PHP Code Widget: Allows you to run PHP Codes in your blog’s widget.
  • Feed Burner: Replaces your WordPress feed page and provides great tracking tools
  • Google Sitemaps Generator: One the best and most important plugins to have.
  • SEO TItle Tag: Probably the most important SEO Plugin to have
  • Show Top Commentators: Good incentive to encourage your visitors to post comments.
  • Wordpress Polls: Allows you to post polls on your blog posts and sidebar.
  • Related Posts: Shows previous related posts below your blog posts.
  • Wordpress Stats: Show statistics of your blog on your blog’s dashboard.
  • Sociable: Shows bookmarking links below each post.
