If you recall, a while ago I put together a new PC for myself. It’s a pretty nice setup with two 22′ monitors. But this post is not about the PC itself, rather the OS (Operating System) on it.
I bought 8GB of memory with other components not knowing that Windows XP 32bit (what most people have) and Vista 32bit do not support more than 4GB of memory. So I had to go with either Windows XP 64x or Vista 64x. (I’m not a fan of Linux so that was out of question).

I ended up deciding for the Windows XP 64 bit. I use this PC mostly for my business and some of the business softwares still don’t run on Windows Vista. I’ve had the XP 64X on my computer for about 3 months now and today I am formatting my computer to install XP 32x. The main reason is even on XP 64x, a lot of softwares don’t work. I thought it was funny that even the new version of MSN messenger (a Microsoft software) doesn’t work on Windows XP 64x.
So bottom line, after two hours of backing up information right now, I am going to format this hard drive and install good old Windows XP 32 bit.
